‘Kulbarf’ to take part in Ischia filmfest

The Ishcia Global Film Festival in Italy has been slated to host Iranian feature ‘Kulbarf’.

The movie, Milad Mansouri’s first feature directorial experience, will be screened at the main competition section of the Italian fest.

The film tells the story of porters who gamble their lives on the border for a piece of bread.

The late Ali Ansarian, an ex-footballer and actor who lost his life in a battle with COVID-19, is among the cast members of the flick. The late actor recently won a post-mortem award for his role in the film at the V.i.Z. Film Fest in Bulgaria.

Also among the cast members of the film are Hossein Soleimani, Hossein Mehri, Deniz Motevasseli, Mahtab Servati, Ali Farasati, Artin Amjadi and Payam Ahmadinia.

Launched in 2003, the Ishcia Global Film Festival is a popular summer film event that accepts films from around the world. Each year leaders of the film industry attend the event that takes place on the isle of Ischia near Naples.

This year’s edition of the fest is set to be held on July 18-25.
